SUBJECT: Proposal for Postage Stamp for Ovarian Cancer Awareness

I am aware that the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition submitted a proposal to you in April 2001 for the creation of Ovarian Cancer awareness stamp. I urge you to do this as quickly as possible.

Ovarian cancer is known as the 'silent killer' because it is usually not diagnosed until it has progressed too far to help the patient. More than 23,000 woman are diagnosed each year and 60%, nearly 14,000, will die from it. By increasing education and awareness of ovarian cancer, more patients will be among those diagnosed at an early stage with a 90% survival rate.

A U.S. postage stamp for Ovarian Cancer will go a long way towards making people aware of this deadly disease. Please help all Americans by creating this stamp without delay.

Thank you for your consideration.
