The Women's Cancer Information Center (WCIC) is sponsored by the Women's Cancer Center, the largest group of physicians treating gynecologic cancers in California. The site offers patients, concerned families and friends, physicians, and other health professionals, reliable medical information specific to gynecological cancers. It is also a gateway to information and resources available on the Internet.

Editorial Policies

Searching the Internet for the information about cancer can lead to competent, well researched data that is helpful and enlightening. Unfortunately, you may also find advice that is questionable--or even dangerous. When selecting content and links, our editors work closely with the Center's physicians, to ensure that the information you gather will be reliable.

We also understand that our visitors have different requirements and different beliefs about cancer. Therefore, we don't attempt to limit information to a single approach or point of view.

Nonetheless, the Internet is a dynamic entity, it changes all the time. We cannot guarantee that the excellent link we looked at yesterday will still be there in the morning. We encourage visitors to explore the Internet aggressively, using common sense and a good amount of healthy skeptisim to evaluate what they find."
